How does it work?
Sodium cromoglicate prevents tissues from becoming inflamed when an allergic reaction occurs. It is not fully understood how this medication works, however it is thought to act on nerves to reduce their response to allergens (anything which causes an allergy). It is known to decrease the release of certain chemicals (including histamine) when an allergic response occurs. These are the chemicals which are responsible for causing inflammation in an allergic response.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Certain medicines should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, other medicines may be safely used in pregnancy or breastfeeding providing the benefits to the mother outweigh the risks to the unborn baby. Always inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, before using any medicine.
