How can this medicine affect other medicines?
Pentazocine should not be used in patients already dependent on other opioids because it can produce the symptoms of withdrawal.
Opioids should not be taken with MAOI anti-depressants or for two weeks after they have been stopped.
When taken together with other drugs that have a sedative effect on the central nervous system, for example, alcohol, sleeping drugs, antidepressant drugs and antihistamines, drowsiness is likely to be increased .
