How does it work?
This medicine contains the active ingredient ketoprofen, which is a type of medicine called a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
It works by blocking the action of a substance in the body called cyclo-oxygenase. Cyclo-oxygenase is involved in the production of various chemicals in the body, some of which are known as prostaglandins. The body produces prostaglandins in response to injury or certain diseases, and they go on to cause pain, swelling and inflammation. As ketoprofen stops the production of prostaglandins, it can be used to relieve inflammation and pain.
All the medicines in this group reduce inflammation caused by the body's own immune system and are effective pain killers.
Ketoprofen applied to the skin surface (topically) is used to relieve pain and inflammation in the local area it is applied to. It is used to treat various conditions in which pain is caused by inflammation. These include muscular and joint conditions such as sprains, strains, backache, rheumatism and minor arthritic conditions.
What is it used for?

Pain from non-serious arthritis
