How can this medicine affect other medicines?

It is important to tell your doctor or pharmacist what medicines you are already taking, including those bought without a prescription and herbal medicines, before you start treatment with this medicine. Similarly, check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking any new medicines during treatment with this one, to ensure that the combination is safe.

In particular, your doctor may want to perform extra monitoring if you take any of the following medicines during treatment with this one:

ketoconazole

fluoxetine

rifampicin

ritonavir.

If you have diabetes and are treated with antidiabetic tablets, your doctor may want to monitor your blood sugar more frequently while you are having treatment with this medicine. This is because it could increase or decrease the amount of sugar in your blood. Your dose of antidiabetic tablets may need to be increased or decreased as a result.

Other medicines containing the same active ingredient

There are currently no other medicines available in the UK that contain bortezomib as the active ingredient.
