How does it work?

Benylin tickly coughs non-drowsy syrup contains glycerin and sucrose as the active ingredients. It is used to relieve a dry, tickly cough and sore throat.

The syrup works by coating the back of the throat, producing a soothing effect. It may also offer some protection to the throat from irritants such as smoke or dust particles.

What is it used for?

  • Dry, tickly, irritating coughs and sore throats.
  • Warning!

  • If symptoms persist consult your doctor.
  • If you have any of the following symptoms you should consult your doctor so that your cough can be investigated further: coughing up phlegm that is green, rusty brown, yellow, blood-stained or foul smelling; shortness of breath, wheezing or difficulty breathing; chest pain; pain and swelling in your calf; sudden weight loss; recurrent night-time cough; or a long-term persistent cough.
  • Use with caution in

  • Diabetes (note sugar content).
  • Not to be used in

  • Children under one year of age
  • Rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrose-isomaltase insufficiency (the syrup contains sucrose and glucose).
  • This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to one or any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy. If you feel you have experienced an allergic reaction, stop using this medicine and inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

    Certain medicines should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, other medicines may be safely used in pregnancy or breastfeeding providing the benefits to the mother outweigh the risks to the unborn baby. Always inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, before using any medicine.

  • This medicine is not expected to have any harmful effects if used by pregnant or breastfeeding women.
