How can this medicine affect other medicines?
When used with norfloxacin the following medications increase the risk of convulsions:
- Non-steriodal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID's)
- Theophylline (norfloxacin also increases the concentration of theophylline in the blood - monitor theophylline levels).
Norfloxacin increases the risk of kidney damage when used with cyclosporin.
The blood thinning effect of nicoumalone and warfarin are enhanced by norfloxacin.
Sucralfate reduces the absorption of norfloxacin - do not take within two hours of taking norfloxacin.
