How can this medicine affect other medicines?

It is important to tell your doctor or pharmacist what medicines you are already taking, including those bought without a prescription and herbal medicines, before you start treatment with this medicine. Similarly, check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking any new medicines while taking this one, to ensure that the combination is safe.

The following medicines should not be taken in the two hours before or the two hours after taking tiludronic acid, as they may reduce its absorption from the gut and make it less effective:

antacids (indigestion remedies)

calcium supplements

iron supplements

multivitamins containing mineral supplements such as iron or calcium.

Indomethacin may increase the absorption of tiludronic acid from the gut and should also not be taken in the two hours before or after taking this medicine.

Other medicines containing the same active ingredient

There are currently no other medicines available in the UK that contain tiludronic acid as the active ingredient.
