Side effects

- Faster than normal heart beat (tachycardia)
- Low blood pressure (hypotension)

- Hot flushes
- Pain in the muscles (myalgia)
- Temporary worsening of chest pain (angina) at the start of therapy
- Throbbing headache (normally disappears with long-term use)
- Diarrhoea

How can this medicine affect other medicines?

You should tell your doctor or pharmacist what medicines you are using, particularly those listed below, before you start treatment with this medicine. This includes those bought without a prescription and herbal medicines. Likewise, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting any new medicines while you are taking this medicine. Dipyridamole increases the blood level of adenosine (used to treat abnormal heart rhythms). Dipyridamole enhances the anti-clotting effect of the following medicines: - other antiplatelet medicines, eg low-dose aspirin, clopidogrel - anticoagulants, eg warfarin. The absorption of dipyridamole from the gut may be reduced if it is taken at the same time as antacids. Dipyridamole may decrease the effect of the anti-cancer drug fludarabine.
