How can this medicine affect other medicines?
The risk of kidney and ear damage is increased when carboplatin is taken with:
-certain antibiotics (aminoglycosides and capreomycin)
-diuretics e.g. frusemide
The response of the body to immunization is reduced by cytotoxic medicines. Therefore the effectiveness of vaccines may be poor and infection may occur in patients immunized with live vaccines.
