How does it work?
This medicine contains three active ingredients, ergotamine tartrate, cyclizine hydrochloride and caffeine citrate. It is used for the relief of an acute migraine attack.
What is it used for?
Warning!
- This medicine should not be used for the prevention of this condition, only in the treatment.
- This medicine may cause drowsiness. If affected do not drive or operate machinery.
- Ergotamine-containing compounds may preciptitate arterial constriction. If symptoms of arterial insufficiency develop (coldness, numbness or tingling of the extremities) the medicine should be discontinued immediately. Repeated doses have occasionally been associated with renal artery spasm and loss of renal function.
Use with caution in
- Alcohol intake

Anaemia

Hyperthyroidism
- Infection of the blood or body tissues with pus-forming or other pathogenic organisms (sepsis)
- Severe inflammation of the liver, with a rapid onset and of short duration (acute hepatitis)
Not to be used in
- Breastfeeding
- Coronary artery disease
- Cramping pain in the calf muscles brought on by exercise, due to narrowing of the arteries in the calves
- Disease involving the blood vessels
- High blood pressure
- Known sensitivity or allergy to any ingredient
- Narrowing of the blood vessels in the hands, causing numb and painful fingers (Raynaud's disease)
- Poor blood flow to the extremities (hands and feet)(peripheral vascular insufficiency).
- Pregnancy
This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to one or any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Certain medicines should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, other medicines may be safely used in pregnancy or breastfeeding providing the benefits to the mother outweigh the risks to the unborn baby. Always inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, before using any medicine.
- This medicine should not be used in pregnancy. Seek medical advice from your doctor.
- This medicine should not be used by breastfeeding mothers. Discuss this with your doctor.
