How does it work?
This preparation contains a combination of paracetamol and isometheptene mucate, and it is used in the treatment of migraine headaches. Although the cause of migraine attacks is not fully understood, it is thought that the widening of blood vessels in the brain causes the pain associated with migraine attacks.
Isometheptene works by causing the blood vessels in the brain to narrow. By decreasing the width of blood vessels isometheptene relieves the pain of migraine headaches.
Paracetamol is a medicine used in the treatment of mild to moderate pain. It is also useful for reducing fever. It is not fully understood how paracetamol produces these effects. It is included in this preparation to further assist in the relief of pain associated with migraines.
