How does it work?
This preparation contains a combination of ingredients which help to relieve constipation. Ispaghula husk and ispaghula seeds are bulk-forming laxatives. When they come into contact with water they swell and increase the volume of the gut contents. This causes the muscle in the gut to push the contents of the gut along more quickly.
What is it used for?

Constipation
- Constipation in bed-ridden patients
- Constipation in pregnancy
- Pain-free bowl evacuation in cases of haemorrhoids
Warning!
- To be used with care by individuals with diabetes. This is due to a high sugar content in the preparation (check the sugar content).

- Blockage of the gut (intestinal obstruction)
- Children under 5 years of age

Inflammation of the bowel and back passage
- Inflammation of the mucous membrane of both small and large intestines (enterocolitis)
This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to one or any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Certain medicines should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, other medicines may be safely used in pregnancy or breastfeeding providing the benefits to the mother outweigh the risks to the unborn baby. Always inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, before using any medicine.
- There are no known harmful effects when this medicine is used during pregnancy.
- This medicine should not be used by breastfeeding mothers. Discuss this with your doctor.
Label warnings
- This medication is to be swallowed whole, not chewed.
- This medication is to be taken with plenty of water.
