When taken with other medicines which decrease blood pressure there is an increased risk of a large drop in blood pressure.
Other medicines containing the same active ingredient
There are no other medicines available in the UK that contain minoxidil for treating high blood pressure.
However, as a result of its effect on hair growth, minoxidil has also been formulated as lotions for treating baldness. These are called Regaine regular strength and Regaine extra strength.
