Liquid paraffin oral emulsion BP

How does it work?

Liquid Paraffin acts by softening and lubricating the faeces. The faeces can then move more easily through the bowel. By doing this it relieves constipation and reduces the pain of some conditions such as piles (haemorrhoids). It is not as good as some of the other medicines for the same problems as the liquid paraffin can sometimes cause anal leakage (liquid paraffin leaking from the bottom). It should not be used just before going to bed.
