How does it work?

This ointment contains an chamomile extract in a base containing lanolin. It is not known how this medicine works but chamomile extract has been used for many years as a herbal treatment. Ointments are oily preparations which, when applied to the skin, act as a barrier and prevent water loss from the skin. Chamomile is believed to have soothing properties. This ointment is particularly useful for treating sore nipples, nappy rash and chapped hands.
