The absorption of zalcitabine from the gut into the body may be reduced if it is taken at the same time as an antacid medicine, eg those containing aluminium or magnesium salts. The blood level of zalcitabine may possibly be increased if it is taken with any of the following medicines. As this may increase the risk of zalcitabine side effects you should be carefully monitored by your doctor if you are taking zalcitabine with any of these:

- aminoglycoside antibiotics, eg gentamicin
