How does it work?
Endekay fluotabs contain the active ingredient sodium fluoride, which is a mineral used as a fluoride supplement.
Fluoride is used to help prevent tooth decay. It is thought to work by strengthening the mineral composition of the tooth enamel, which makes the teeth more resistant to attack by acid in the mouth. Fluoride is most effective when taken in childhood, when teeth are developing. Fluoride is also needed for the formation of strong bones.
Fluoride is added to drinking water in many areas and in general, water is a prime source of the mineral. However, the amount of fluoride in the water varies from area to area, and when levels are too low it is important to take supplements. This is especially true for children. Fluoride is also available as mouth rinses and toothpastes, in addition to tablets.
Fluoride deficiency increases the risk of tooth decay.
What is it used for?
Prevention of tooth decay (dental caries) in areas with low fluoride content in the drinking water
