How does it work?

Dermalo bath emollient is a bath oil containing liquid paraffin and acetylated wool alcohols, otherwise known as lanolin, a substance extracted from sheeps' wool. These ingredients form a light barrier on the surface of the skin which helps to keep moisture in the skin by preventing evaporation of water. Bath oils can be used as emollients, which soothe, smooth and moisturise the skin. These are useful in dry, scaly skin disorders such as eczema, and hereditary, non-inflammatory skin conditions of the elderly such as ichthyosis and xeroderma. It is added in small amounts to each bath and to wet skin. It can be used to cleanse the skin in circumstances where the use of soaps, soap substitutes and colloid or oat meal baths proves irritating. It is particularly suitable for infant bathing.

What is it used for?

Atopic dermatitis

Inflammation or irritation of the skin caused by a reaction to irritants (contact dermatitis)

Inherited, non-inflammatory dryness and scaling of the skin (ichthyosis, xeroderma)

Itching (pruritus)

Warning!

If you develop a skin rash while using this medicine, stop using it and consult your doctor.

This preparation is for external use only.

Individuals are advise to take care when using this product, to avoid accidental slipping in the bath

This product should always be used with water, either added to water or applied to wet skin.

This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to one or any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Certain medicines should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, other medicines may be safely used in pregnancy or breastfeeding providing the benefits to the mother outweigh the risks to the unborn baby. Always inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, before using any medicine.

There is no safety information available on the use of this medicine in human pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, it has been widely used for many years without ill consequence. Seek medical advice from your doctor.
