How does it work?

This preparation contains hydrotalcite and activated dimeticone (previously spelt dimethicone in the UK). Hydrotalcite consists of aluminium magnesium carbonate hydroxide hydrate, which is an antacid. It decreases the acidity of the stomach's juices by binding to excess acid. The decreased acidity can help to relieve the symptoms of stomach ulcers, heartburn and indigestion. The activated dimeticone is used to help to relieve pain and bloating caused by trapped wind. It works by bringing together all the small bubbles of gas to form a large bubble, which is expelled either by belching or flatulance.

- Excess acid in the stomach (hyperacidity)
- Excess gas in the stomach and intestines (flatulence)
- Heartburn
- Heartburn in late pregnancy
- Inflamed stomach lining (gastritis)
- Peptic ulcer
- Upset stomach characterised by stomach pain and burning, nausea and excess gas (dyspepsia)
