Over the next few months we will bring you recipes for cocktails which reflect the seasons, some classics and some new creations, but all easy to make and all entirely delicious.
The Bloodhound cocktail recipe
Staring out of the window at the moment, as the rain lashes down, it is depressing to think that it is still officially Summer, so why not cheer yourself up with this London original brought to us by our friends at Beefeater Gin and cocktail guru, Nick Strangeway.THE BLOODHOUND
EQUIPMENT:
Martini Glass
Cocktail Shaker
Sieve
INGREDIENTS:
1 part (25ml) Beefeater gin
1 part (25ml) dry white vermouth
1 part (25ml) sweet red vermouth
6 strawberries
METHOD:
1) Mash the strawberries and shake with the other ingredients and ice.
2) Strain into a chilled glass and garnish with a slice of strawberry.
TIP: If you don't have a measure, a useful tip from Nick is to use an egg cupful as one measure and for an interesting twist, try making your Bloodhound with raspberries.
If you enjoy this recipe, do let us know and even suggest some of your own which we'll publish on the site.
Happy summer (what's left of it) drinking...
Simon
