I am 16 stone and really struggle with weight loss. I must admit, I feel really down about it and no matter what I do I don't have the willpower to stick to it. Has anyone been my size and successfully lost weight? If so, please share your dieting secrets as I really don't know what to do. I don't go out anymore, I sit and eat snacks in front of the TV most evenings and my relationship has taken a nose dive as I've lost my confidence as a woman. Help.

I think there is so much pressure to look lean and thin and at the end of the day I just want to feel fit, happy and healthy. My best diet has been to exercise three times a week. Even if it's just a gentle stroll. That combined with reasonable size portions of food for lunch and dinner and you can't go wrong. I also drink a lot of water which helps keep me full.

I've being yo-yo dieting for years and it hasn't got me anywhere. I find the best way forward is to eat as fresh as possible... i.e. fresh fruit and vegetables, home prepared food vs microwave meals etc... even if the microwave meals say low fat on the packet. Also - I don't buy chocolate, crips or snacks. If they are not in the house I can't eat them.
