Troubleshooting Webspace Error 403

Solution
This error message is usually caused by the fact that you have not uploaded an index.html or index.htm page to the server.
The index page is simply the home page of your site. If you type the same of your site, such as http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/sitename, into the browser, the browser will automatically look for a file named
http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/sitename/index.htm.
If this page does not exist, then the server thinks you are trying to illegally access another part of your site, and so it generates this message.
The solution, therefore, is to make sure that the main page of your site is named index.htm. Remember that the index.htm file has to be in the root directory of your website, not a sub directory
therefore it cannot be placed in any folders and that it must be in lower case.
Users uploading using Microsoft Front Page rather than a dedicated FTP client have sometimes experienced problems with index.htm. This is because Front Page may create a sub-directory and put your whole website in that leaving your root directory without an index.htm page - so you may already have a file named index.htm but in the wrong directory.
If you experience this problem, consider switching to a dedicated FTP client
such as WS FTP LE with detailed download and setup prcoedures detailed
HERE.
Make sure you leave any 'remote directory' box blank.
The file index.htm is a simple file - not a directory in itself
If your FTP program has a 'Remote Directory' field, leave this blank.
