Tiscali Personal Webspace Troubleshooting Guide

This section offers instructions, help pages and FAQ related to activating and uploading to your Tiscali webspace.

If you are having problems viewing your website please ensure you have:

1. Activated your webspace
   
2. Connected to the Internet using a Tiscali Access package. If this is not the case you may receive Error 530/331.
   

Host name	ftp.myweb.tiscali.co.uk
UserID	Your email address
Webspace address	The website name you chose when you activated your webspace which will be in one of the following formats depending on your email address:
	Tiscali                http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/website_name Lineone             http://website.lineone.net/~website Gateway            http://www.website.ukgateway.net Tinyworld          http://users.tinyworld.co.uk/website Tinyonline          http://users.tinyonline.co.uk/website Worldonline       http://www.website.worldonline.co.uk Screaming          http://www.website.screaming.net

If you are still facing problems uploading please check:

• You are not trying to upload through a firewall. If so, and the firewall is on your own PC, configure it to allow the upload. If the firewall is on a networked machine, contact your systems administrator.
   
• If this does not resolve the problem, a basic connection to the webspace can be enabled using the DOS prompt as follows:

1. Click Start on your PC and then select Run
2. Type in ftp ftp.myweb.tiscali.co.uk
3. You should see a screen similar to this image       
4. At the prompt type in your username and click Enter
5. You will then be prompted for your password after which you must click Enter again
6. If you get a successful login here this indicates the FTP client has been configured incorrectly. If your login fails and you have logged in previously this indicates the username or password have been entered incorrectly
