How to deal with problems opening attachments in Outlook Express

Troubleshooting Outlook Express- Viewing attachments
Symptom
When you double-click an Internet shortcut in an Outlook Express e-mail message, your Web browser may not start or connect to the Web page.
Solution
The usual cause of this annoyance is a setting in Outlook Express 6 which is blocking you
viewing attachments. To fix this problem:
- Open Outlook Express
- Click Tools on the top navigation bar
- Click Options
- Then click the Security tab.
- Uncheck the box called Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened which could potentially be a virus
- Click Apply and then
- OK
If this does not fix the problem, there are a number of rare causes of this problem which can be viewed on the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
