Your modem pack will contain an Installation CD, a
Welcome letter with your Broadband username and password as well as
the following items:
NOTE: There are two broadband(ADSL) filters so that you can use
more than one phone device with the Broadband connection. To order additional filters click
here. For further
information on the need for filters click
here.
Place your Tiscali Installation CD into your computer and allow the CD to run automatically.
If nothing happens after a minute of submitting the CD double click on
the My Computer icon on your computers desktop and then double click
on your CD-Rom drive, which should appear with a green Tiscali icon. If you
receive an error message click here.
You will then be prompted to install Tiscali Broadband. You may be prompted
for your Broadband username and password which will be in the welcome letter
you received with your pack. If you have forgotten your username and
password click here. The
installation process will then install the software for the modem during
which time you will see this screen:
After installing the modem software connect your USB cable (the side with the red label) to your modem:
Connect the other end of the USB cable to your computer. Your computer will then recognise that a new hardware device has been attached and will locate the necessary software.
Next connect your RJ11 cable to your modem:
Connect the other end of the RJ11 cable to a filter:
If you have a telephony device (fax, phone etc.) plugged into the
same phone socket where you would like to connect your Broadband modem
undertake steps 7 and 8, otherwise skip to step 9.
Unplug your phone ( or any other telephony device) from the BT telephone socket:
Reconnect the phone to the Broadband filter which the modem is connected to:
You are now ready to connect to the Internet using your
Broadband account. Click to Finish the Installation process and then check
that the lights on your modem are both solid green (i.e. they are not
flashing). On your computers desktop you will see a new Tiscali Broadband
(or Internet ADSL) icon which you must double click on to connect. If there
is no icon on the desktop click
