What if my RJ11 cable is not long enough?
You can purchase longer extension cables by the metre online by
clicking here or at most PC stores. It is essential that a longer RJ11 cable is used rather than a phone extension cable as this can cause problems as
described here.
What do I need in order to be able to use Tiscali Broadband?
- PC
- Pentium 200Mhz
- 32MB RAM
- Four-speed CD-ROM player
- Video card/display 800 x 600, 256 colours
- 150MB free on your computers hard drive
- Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 2000 Professional or XP. Macs are compatible with broadband but are not supported by Tiscali. For more details click here.
- A USB port that can supply 500 ma (a rectangular port/plug approximately 12mm wide x 4mm high that allows you to plug in peripheral devices such as modems, printers, MP3 players, webcams etc.)

How do I install Tiscali Broadband?
After you have registered online, we will activate Tiscali Broadband on your phone line. This can take up to 10 working days. Your installation pack will then be sent to you. When you receive your pack, simply insert the CD installation guide for instructions on how to install the modem. An online reference guide is also
available here.
Please bear in mind the two filters in the pack are provided assuming that you only use two phone sockets in your property. If you use more than this (e.g. for Sky) you may require additional filters for other phone sockets in your property. If you do not have all phone sockets (which are in use) connected via a filter you may experience connection problems -

Can I connect more than one computer to the Internet with Tiscali Broadband?
Some operating systems such as Windows XP allow multiple users to share a single Internet connection. Tiscali does not provide technical assistance for networking your computers but does not prohibit connection sharing.
