BACK TO THE SUBJECT:
Green issues are vital and my concern is that as we try to stave off economic woes we will forsake the environment which is not good to anyone. We in the developed world need to take a lead on this as we have historically been the worst polluters and consumers of resources. Whilst population numbers are of concern, I take issue with the 'tone' implicit in Rachel's comment . . .

Population growth is a way of life, but it's what the population do about their surroundings that's the issue. Yes, China, India etc do have high populations but you can't blame them for global warming alone.
