Being a blockhead is now a worthy accolade

Simplicity is the key here. Oh, and Spielberg, the famed director has put more than a little penny's worth of his talent, influence and name to this block bashing puzzler. Whether it shows or not is up to you. What you get is one of the year's most colourful, addictive and in equal measures, infuriating games so far.

Point and throw a variety of objects and beautifully constructed towers of Jenga-like blocks and the odd special objects that will either bounce, break or go boom. That's about it.

Certain blocks have point values, others you'll need to topple in a tactical domino-worthy fashion in order to come out as top blockhead. Along the way you'll encounter and indeed become very good friends with, a variety of square-faced cows and cats or chisel-jawed, leather-chapped gorillas and their offspring. Multiplayer is just terrific, offering a choice of 300 levels and thirty characters and the chance to perfect your throwing arm. Adventure Mode has a character-filled journey into mayhem watched by critter spectators as you destructive prowess rotates and flips through some bullet-time slow mos and ends in clocking up the high score. Here you'll get to reunite mummy gorillas with her wayward sprogs - such is the set-up for these scenarios.

The bonus here though is the level builder - the chance to construct your very own cartoon towers of Babel before you set upon bringing the whole crashing earthwards.And all the while the insanely jaunty soundtrack urges you onwards, to the goal of blockhead supremacy.

Ridiculously good fun all round.
