Using The Force in a whole new way
We have been waiting for this game for what seems like a long, long time ago. In a galaxy far, far away. Ok, we'll stop. But understand this; the Wii was made for a decent lightsaber game. It just hasn't had one to date. Now, we think, there may be a corker on the horizon. The Force Unleashed casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The game's story is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the big bad villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - an anti-hero lightsaber game, get in! From what we understand players will be wielding the Wii Remote as a lightsaber while using the Nunchuk controller to torment foes with their Force powers such as the choke hold and mind control. But as the title suggests, this game is also about exploring new ways that the Force can be used - and even abused! The Secret Apprentice won't just Force push enemies into walls - he'll Force push enemies through walls. Equally, he won't just Force grip foes to throw them aside - he'll Force grip them in midair, zap them with lightning, then drop them to the ground to explode like a bomb. The Wii version, in development by Krome Studios, will also add an exclusive duel mode in which players can compete head-to-head with their friends to determine the ultimate Jedi Master. The chance to have a full on after the pub Force fuelled lightsaber battle with friends is an urge that cannot be resisted! Expect a release in September.
