Somewhere over the rainbow, Tom's troops are at it again!
The highly-anticipated sequel to the recipient of numerous awards, including 2006's Best First Person Shooter and Best Online Game, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 promises to push the top-selling franchise to new heights with new gameplay features and much improved co-op and multiplayer modes.
Ubisosft promises that this will be the last time players have the chance to run the Rainbow squad through the visually astounding spectacle of Vegas in full swing. Sadly, Sin City is being sidelined for future Rainbow titles so if you want to have one last blast amongst the slots then this is your chance to shine.
Co-op play has become as easy as turning a pad on. Now you and a friend can jump into a single player game and assist without any change to the story. The single player maps and storyline were created with co-op in mind, meaning every map has multiple entry points and the story is unaffected. We understand there's over a dozen new maps for multiplayer fans to blow holes through.
The AI has been cranked up to eleven too. The terrorists are equipped with thermal vision, night vision, and shields - not to mention a multitude of varying tactics - all of which are guaranteed to keep you hugging corners tighter than a F1 champion on the racing line.
There's eleven new weapons to lock and load - and from what we understand in a similar vein to Call of Duty IV multiplayer, they will be unlocked as your character's skills increase. - thus ensuring gameplay longevity. Not that there need be much worry of getting bored. If the sequel is as good as 2006's effort then we may well have hit the jackpot - and there's no better place for that than Vegas. A release is scheduled for mid March.
