Midnight launch for 'biggest game of the year' plus new downloadable content for Fight Night 4 and The Saboteur screens
Just in case you've been living in a cave for the last 12 months, on November 10 acclaimed developer Infinity Ward will mark its return with the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, the sequel to the multiple Game Of The Year.
News has just been announced that HMV is supporting the release with a huge midnight opening event to be held at HMV's Trocadero store in London's Piccadilly Circus on Monday November 9.
The launch night starts at 12-midnight (Monday night, Tuesday morning) with a heavy military presence descending on the store. Fans can then buy copies of the game including a HMV exclusive 'Prestige Edition' (with night vision goggles) available to buy on the night.
As space in the queue is limited, customers are asked to pick up a wristband from the store on the day of the event from 9.00 am to allow them to queue at the store prior to the midnight launch. So if you want to be one of the first to grab a copy of what is hotly tipped as the definitive soldier shooter then be prepared for a long wait and a few cold toes.
Meanwhile, another big publisher has also made an important announcement. Gaming giant EA has just revealed that it will be releasing a new Downloadable Content (DLC) pack for Fight Night Round 4 in early December for both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. The DLC pack retails for 800 MS Points and $9.99 on the PlayStation Network (approx 6 GBP).
In addition to including Bernard Hopkins, Sonny Liston and Evander Holyfield as playable boxers, the DLC pack will also include two all-new game modes. The first, Old School Rules brings a new take to the traditional boxing experience, while the second, Ring Rivalries, allows you to re-create some of the greatest match ups in boxing history! We are firm believers that FN4 is by far and away the best boxing game currently on the market so for fight fans everywhere this pack is an essential piece of kit.
Staying with EA we've got some hot off the press screenshots from the forthcoming stealth epic The Saboteur. The open world WWII-themed adventure is all set for release on Xbox 360 and PS3 on Dec 4.
