BioShock and Oblivion double pack announced
Friday 19th June 2009 - 11:00

Two for one offer for multi-award winning titles plus Kevin Pietersen to front major new cricket title

Games and Bethesda Softworks are teaming up to deliver a value-packed experience that combines 2006 Game of the Year Winner The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion with 2007 Game of the Year Winner BioShock into one complete package. Pricing has also been confirmed, the BioShock and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Bundle will be available in shops across the UK for a bargain cost of (GBP) 30 for Xbox 360 and (GBP) 20 for PC.

With a combined bounty of more than 80 Game of the Year awards from the industry's top publications, the BioShock and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Bundle provide two critically acclaimed experiences that have set new benchmarks for their genres. Taking the world by storm in 2006, Oblivion set a new benchmark for role-playing experiences for current-generation gaming. Lush visuals, expansive worlds and limitless character customisation combine with unprecedented levels of player freedom and NPC interaction to form one of the most successful and critically acclaimed games ever created. We literally lost ourselves for months in the game, to this day it stands the test of time.

BioShock is the genetically enhanced shooter that weaved intricate storytelling with an intense journey though a decaying underwater Art Deco utopia gone mad. It flipped the script on the standard shooter and had more style than many of the most recent titles. Expect a July 7 release for what must be one of the gaming bargains of the year.

Meanwhile, Kevin Pietersen, the England batsman, will be the face of Ashes Cricket 2009, the official video game of this summer's tournament, Codemasters announced today. Pietersen will be the game's cover star and joins Ricky Ponting, Shane Warne and Sir Ian Botham in playing a prominent role in the game. Now gamers will have the opportunity to emulate his 2005 Ashes success by playing as him or against him in Ashes Cricket 2009, which will feature fully licensed players, kit, stadia and equipment.

"I am delighted to be involved with the official game of the Ashes," commented KP. "The game looks fantastic and I'm sure both England and Australia fans are going to relish the opportunity to take part in a virtual Ashes series. Representing your country in the Ashes is a huge honour and I can't wait for it to start."

Ashes stars of the past are also included in Ashes Cricket 2009 with Sir Ian Botham and Shane Warne taking on commentary duties and hosting the game's comprehensive 'Legends Mode'. Beefy and Warney will talk players through the basics of every aspect of the sport, progressing to more advanced techniques before setting player challenges based on classic moments from the history of cricket. The game is currently being developed by Transmission Games and will be released for the PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC in July.
A Nintendo Wii version, developed by Gusto Games, will be released in August. We've got some screenshots in our gallery if you can't wait for the leather on willow action any longer.
