Gaming giant set to unveil new titles at Sci-Fi London, Mario and Sonic retake chart top spot and Viking: Battle for Asgard screens
EA has announced it will be the official games sponsor for this year's Sci-Fi London, the UK's only dedicated science fiction film festival which will run from 30 April - 4 May 2008 at the Apollo West End theatre in London.
As exclusive games sponsor, EA will be showcasing PC and console titles as part of the festival line-up, to include Mass Effect, Command and Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath, Spore and Boom Blox, while festival-goers will also get the chance to see a sneak preview of the forthcoming epic space horror game Dead Space. As well as seeing exclusive trailers for the games before film screenings, there will be opportunities to play them and win merchandise.
Gary Booker, EA UK Marketing Director, said: "Great story-telling isn't limited to the big screen and we'll be at the festival to show that video games offer a fantastic way of telling and interacting with these stories at the same time." We imagine there'll be queues around the block to play Will Wright's hotly anticipated Spore title and the next instalment in the legendary RTS series that is Command and Conquer
Meanwhile, it is once again all change in the land of the charts as Mario and Sonic retake the top spot for the fourth time. Sega's classic track and field game pushes Army of Two into second place while Rockstar's Bully: Scholarship Edition has paid attention in class and climbs to third spot.
Finally, check out the very latest screenshots of Viking: Battle for Asgard that we've been able to pillage from Sega. The game will put you in the gore-drenched boots of Skarin, a fierce Viking warrior, and will feature three massive islands to explore and liberate from an insidious evil. Players will use Skarin's brutal combat moves to hack the invading undead Legion to pieces, rescue his kinsmen and assemble giant armies with which to drive out Hell's entrenched forces. A release on PS3 and Xbox 360 is scheduled for March 28.
