10. Pac-Man – Arcade – 1980
Before games were obsessed with realism, it was enough to shoehorn a stupid idea onto a TV screen and make millions. All you did in Pac-Man was run around a maze, like an 18th century dandy on a weekend break – but the skills required to excel remain a challenge to this very day. Remake Pac-Man Championship Edition is glorious and available now on Xbox Live Arcade.
