Anyone who grew up in the '80s playing the 'ole 8-bit video systems and still has a bit of nostalgia for those simpler times, will remember Pac-Man, Frogger, Super Mario Bros. Classics burned into the minds of an entire generation.
Now, as showcased in the recently published book ‘i am 8-bit’, artists put their memories to paper, canvas and wood to create original pieces inspired by the art of videogames
With influences ranging from surrealism to skateboard art, these classic game-inspired art pieces may well be with us even after the latest gaming trend has expired...only again to inspire the next batch of arty gamers in their wake.
