Default Patio

I have yet to find a patio cleaner that really works on our patio. I think it must be more stained than most.

Thanks dogman. I've googled it and it looks rather potent. It looks as though it is for professionals like yourself to use.

Yes we have August. It helped a bit but not a lot. We think the slabs need replacing but a quote we had was several thousand pounds. Mr. A thought he would just turn them over but as he has a dodgy hip it was a bit difficult and he broke the first one so gave up. We'll keep trying.

Hi Andante

No, you never put a sealant on patio slabs, Nice idea but, think rain and frost = broken limbs at best, then follows the law suit.

As Mr A probably now realises you can't flip over slabs they have a face side up.

You were quoted several thousand pounds, I truly think you should get a few more quotes. forgive me but have a google around and look at your options, maybe use what you got and go down the route of crazy paving, I for one got fedup with the slab look and decked my patio
area, again hunt around for the best quote, and always get at least five quote's saying each time you were the first quote and I just need a few other to be sure.

Good luck and don't get ripped off.

I've had an idea. I've suggested to Mr.A that we get some emulsion paint the colour of the stains or darker and paint it on and perhaps it will soak in. Then we could do it each year. Or would the rain wash it off?

what you need is a 2000 to 3000 psi pressure washer with a sand blast attachment from any decent hire company alot cheaper than replacing all the patio

Maybe so, but you have to be very careful to avoid wearing away the face of the slabs and leaving an irreparably rough surface which will cause a great deal of trouble.
I know, I've done it

Have you tried a mixture of Jeyes Fluid a good stain remover for paving areas and the like and also it is a Disinfectant as well.

Thank you for all the advice. Jeyes Fluid is about the only thing we haven't tried Dolphin. We'll give it a go.
