Guylian Praliné Cream LiqueurAnyone who's ever tasted those lovely Guylian chocolate sea shells knows what a satisfying treat lovely rich milk chocolate is. Presumably, the makers of these chocolates also know this and have excelled themselves in the treat stakes by adding whiskey to their fabulous chocolate and coming up with Guylian Praline Cream Liqueur. 10 points to Guylian for this one - this drink is a proper Christmassy treat and makes a welcome change from the usual Baileys' bottles that have do more rounds at Christmas than the postman.
The seahorse-shaped bottle is cute and tactile, resembling swirly rich chocolate. The 16% alcohol content is respectable but not debauched and the taste is very rich, not overly sweet (as I anticipated) and had a gorgeous aftertaste that left me licking my lips. Particularly recommended is the liqueur over big ice cubes in a very large glass, ahhh! Roll on Christmas!
Available exclusively in Sainsbury's from October, a newly designed gift pack includes a 700ml bottle and a box of Guylian Praliné Seashells, all for a rrp of £14.99.
