- 1 egg
- 100g flour
- 125ml milk½ teaspoon ground mixed spice
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon English mustard
- Salt and pepper
- 300g Button sprouts trimmed (raw)
- Vegetable oil to fry
Method:
- Break the egg into a bowl, add the flour and mix well, gradually add the milk, making sure not to create any lumps, when smooth add the spices and season to taste.
- Dust the sprouts with flour, then dip them in the batter and fry in oil for 3 to 4 minutes or until golden.
- Remove from the oil and drain well over some paper towel.
- Sprinkle with salt and serve with your favourite dips. We recommend a spicy chilli dip.
