7.45 The end is nigh! After 93 gruelling days the Big Brother juggernaut finally reaches its destination. But who of the remaining housemates will win? Our bet’s on Rachel…
8.00 Well, there’s a hearty bunch of lunatics crowd out braving the awful weather, it’s obviously not raining on their Big Brother finale parade then (much). Ooh Rex doesn’t seem popular judging by the chanting… we can’t think why.
8.07 Oh no they’re getting all the evicted housemates out for their 5 minutes of fame… by the sounds of it they are about as popular as Rex. Here’s Luke. Davina asks him whether he and Bex are really going out? Yeah, right. Long as the Heat magazine spreads keep coming… oh here’s Lisa. We love Lisa. It’s a travesty she got voted out. She needs to dump Mario though. And Mario needs to dump the sunbed.
8.10 Back to the ‘Famous Five’ then… Sara you do not fancy Darnell, get a grip. Stop torturing the poor boy for more screen-miles. Jeez, Mikey’s monotone is so annoying. It’s even testing the patience-of-a-saint Rachel. Stop talking Mikey, you’re sucking the life from us! OK, now Rex is making a toast at the Last Supper. It’s quite sweet. Do we forgive him his bullying ways? Oh-oh Mikey’s making a speech now. Make it end! Darnell’s speech by far proves he is the most genuine person in the godforsaken place.
8.17 Rex is throwing his toys out his pram again. Not enough booze apparently. Will someone please just give the smug moron a slap? Where is he an ‘executive chef’ for again? KFC? Big Bro is playing music – everyone’s dancing but Rex. Oh no – a Whitney Houston power ballad’s just come on. The girls are giving it their best… possibly with a fledging pop music career in mind. Nooo! It’s already raining girls; we don’t want a monsoon.
8.20: Ok back to tonight. This is more like it. Who is going first?? Darnell! Oh no! Not Rex? How can this be?! At least they’re not boo-ing him.
8.30 Davina’s interviewing Darnell, showing him his ‘best of’ clips. He was a bit miserable in the house wasn’t he? He’s happy now though, getting the love from the crowd. That’s right Darnell! Forget Sara. She no good for you. Oh, there’s Stu. Still wearing his man make-up, we see. Who’s a pretty boy, then?
8.40 Ok – who’s next? REX! Yee-ha! Get the ginger terrorist out of there! oh-oh – he’s getting no love from the crowd. No Rex, you deluded egomaniac: those are boos not cheers. He doesn’t seem to notice, he’s too busy basking in his own self-congratulatory drool. Davina is interviewing Rex now. Perhaps she should ask him why his parents named him after the family dog? Rex is unrepentent about his pantomoime villian role. He loves winding people up apparently. Really? We hadn’t noticed. He also ‘loves Nicole’ apparently. Oh, that’s why he kept making her cry! Now we understand! Emergency, where is Gok Wan? Rex needs a modesty make-over, ASAP!
8.50 ok who’s next? Mikey? NO! It’s Sara! She looks shell-shocked, insisting she’s ’happy to go’. Yeah, right course you are love. That’s why you look so annoyed. Back in an hour, stay awake tuned!.
10.00 Ok people – we’re on the last leg. The end is in sight! Apparently it’s a photo finish. Simpering Rach or monotone Mikey? It’s a tough one… Ok, Sara is on her way out… she keeps squealing with delight. At least she’s not singing.
10.10 Davina’s interviewing Sara now. Sara’s verging on hysteria. She is competing with Mikey in the annoying-voice stakes. Davina’s interrogating Sara about her ‘love’ for Darnell. Clue: it’s a game show. Is it a leap of faith to assume games are involved? Sara keeps side-stepping the issue of love-sick Darnell. Davina is asking Sara if she was leading him up the garden path. Um… Yes?
10.20 Ok, this is it! And the winner of Big Bro 2008 is… RACHEL! We knew it! Mikey’s on his way out to rapturous applause. Bless him. We take it back about the monotone. Maybe.
10.30 Davina’s interviewing Mikey now. He’s being very magnanimous. Rachel isn’t a fraud, Mikey insists. Yeah, yeah whatever. Mikey says he’s proud to have stood up to all the Big Brother bullies in the house. Well he is the only one who told Rex to sod off – so that can’t be a bad thing.
10.35 Big Bro winner Rach is out! It’s fair to say she’s excited. Yes Rach, we get it, you’re happy! In the words of Michael Winner, calm down dear.
10.42 Davina is interviewing Rachel. Was she being fake or the real her…blah, blah…. Who cares! If Rach had a gameplan it certainly worked. Rex’s bullying probably did her the biggest favour ever and she knew it! She got the sympathy vote if ever there was one. Well done Rachel, you are the best of a motley bunch-of-fame-junkies champion!

looks like rachel is going to win now according to the poll on the webpage. It would have been nice is Mikey could win, but it is looking very unlikely. Re 20. Many people voted for Rachel to win because of her quite personality when being intimidated by Rex. I personally think he played into her hands, as we the voters were so incensed with the way he treated her, it was a competition between getting Rex out and Rachel to the top.
It is unlikely that BB10 will have a load of Rachel’s, but will be diverse in its contestants as usual.
It goes to show that there are a lot of good people around still that will fight against injustice.

Well done the Tiscali pollsters – spot on with the order!
Great to see a “Nice” person get the rewards (though would rather have seen Mikey win) rather than the ones who rely on bullying and nastiness to grab attention – let’s hope the bullies reflect on this and ask themselves why the public didn’t vote more for them. Sadly, I suspect that once in the world again they will simply put their losing down to the majority of the GB public being stupid and gullible. I hope not.

I don’t normally do these things but need to get a few things off my chest!! I was really happy that Darnell and Rex were the first to go and I would have been quite happy for any one of the last three to win – I think they were the most genuine and real people on BB. BUT…I really think that Rachel and Sara were treated a bit unfairly in their interviews and on Big Mouth whilst Rex and Darnell got a really easy ride! What’s that all about?? Poor Rachel is still being accused of being fake and I think it was REALLY unfair of Davina to make that comment about her being ‘off the fence in the diary room’. That is just not true, I have watched a lot and Rachel is a very soft hearted, nice person and she never had a bad word to say about anyone, not even in the diary room. What has this world come to if it is boring to be a nice, genuine kind hearted person. She did not sit on the fence, she just doesn’t like to be hurtful to anyone or anything even if they were hurtful to here – I can relate because I also hate conflict and I hate to hurt anyone. It’s so unnecessary and yet some people think that is wrong?? Do they think we should be rewarding the people who say mean and nasty things and who are bullies? I find it all a bit strange! Also, Sara was really given a hard time about leading Darnell on but I think she made it plain all the time she did not fancy him and they both said they liked to cuddle. I do think she is a born flirt, especially after a drink but Darnell knew from the first time around that she did not fancy him and that does NOT excuse his behaviour but this evening they almost made it sound like the way he treated her when he was angry was all HER fault. That’s just wrong!! Anyway…enough of my rant now, got it off my chest …just want to say it restores my faith in human nature that ‘NICE’ people can still do well. WELL DONE RACHEL and please DON’T CHANGE, YOU’RE LOVELY! And well done MIKEY AND SARA!

I bet, even if Rachel didn’t win, I bet she wouldn’t lower herself to strip for money!!!…. She’s a down to earth, honest Gal, who has impecible manners, good family values and a good standard of morals…..it’s what this world needs more of!!!…. And Yeh, ok…so what, she lives with the fairies at the bottom of the garden!!!…I’d rather have her as a friend, than some of the monsterosities who have ‘not so’ graced our screen this summer!!!….

I agree with everything no.40 said but just to add a little more I was absolutely incandescent that Davina tried to bully Rachel into saying if she would share the money with other housemates, this wasnt just a passing comment, she pushed the mike at her and waited and waited for the poor girl to hang herself, mean if she doesnt stupid if she does. She embarrased her into saying she was giving several thousands to charity and taking some housemates to disney! In my opinion Davina ought to be paying for that, even on her big night Rachel was treated unfairly by Davina who tried to make Rex, her blue eyed bully, look good. Shame on the way BB have condoned his bullying, rewarding him with vintage champagne whilst the others had things like pizza & grapes and shame on Davina who promoted him and made nasty comments about Rachel all the way through. Thank goodmess the majority of people dont find bullying entertaining.

Well, Rachel won. Thank god people do accept that someone who was genuine and remained outwardly calm under intense pressure was able to be recognised and thereby WIN. My estimation of DALE went rapidly downhill after seeing his pathetic winging outbursts last night, LUKE also showed himself up as one hell of a PRAT. Frankly, Rachel was almost the only normal middle of the road person in the house and hence fence sitting is what decent people do. GOOD ON YOU RACHEL. What next for the Welsh lass? On another issue, DAVINA as BBBM show was a bit of a disaster do you not agree? RACHEL – YES!

Yes, one more thing. BIG BROTHER must pay for the cost of Rachel and her friends trip to Disney Paris, and also stump up the £10 Grand they forced her to say she was giving to charity. What utter a**e holes the producers of BB are and what must they think of Rachel. £100K is a decent sum, I agree, but then its down to £90K then probable down to £80K when you take Paris off, then she needs to pay her mums bills then her own student loans, so say about £40K left, a years salary for a decent job. SHAME on BB for being so rude and acting in indecent haste on this tacky subject. RACHEL Looked so shocked and sad at this taunt from Davina. I hope the BB CREW do justice hear.

I’m glad Rachel won. I wouldn’t have minded Mikey winning because he did at least stand up to the bullies. Rachcel put up with a lot in the house and maintained her composure and dignity. Had she been fake then she would never have been able to maintain the facade throughout. A pity that the majority of other housemates could not have got over their minor momemnt of notoriety on BBBM last night and allowed her her moment – backing her as the winner – no they all still had to be at their bitchy best – what a shame. Just showed what a crowd of no-hopers they really were.

Well said Vixx – you’ve saved me having to type it all out – I totally agree with your comments!
What I don’t get is people saying the “entertaining” ones were voted out. You have only to look at what they are doing now in magazines and page 3 type photos, to realise that far from entertaining they are all self-promoting wannabees.
If you want entertainment like that – why don’t you go along to any pre-school playgroup and watch the kids having a good time. Even they have more self-control than most of those silly housemates.
This is the first blog I have joined in and I’ve loved reading all your comments. Thanks for some sanity in a materialistic world, and well done to Rachel and Mikey for coming out on top.

I have liked Davina for years, but after the gross act of bullying she put Rachel through last night in front of millions of viewers, has now changed my opinion of her.
She is now in the category Biggest Bully 09 ahead of REX and NICOLE and the rest who participated in making Rachel’s life in the house as bad as they could.
It takes a good person both physically and mentally to be able to deal with that, shrug off all that has been thrown at her and to do it always with a smile.
BB and Davina should pay the charity money and for the holiday that they forced out of Rachel.
Rachel and Mikey were the only winners who can honestly say that, they were themselves, hold their heads up high and be proud of who they are.
RACHEL, Good luck for your future, You can be proud of your parents and family upbringing, there’s not many people like you in this country, if there were this country would probably be a better place to live.

how dare Davina try and ruin Rachels night!!! She is normally pretty good at keeping her own thoughts close to her heart, but watching her on BBBM I have seen a different side to her. And as for people booing the winner (whether you like them or not) is childish and unforgivable.
Also on BBBM Davina asked the other housemates if they thought it was the right choice and many said no – excuse me but it was us the paying public that had the choice to choose …. and we did!!

I was watching the housemates have this farewell meal thurs night and all Rex moaned about was the fact that BB had only given them 1 bottle of wine and 1 bottle of bubbley,so Rex why did’nt you open your bottle of plonk that BB gave to you,when all the other housemates shared there gifts with you,
Im so pleased that Rachel won BB9 and not those ass holes Rex and Darnell.

I agree with those who have made comments about Davina’s behaviour towards Rachel last night – trying to force her to share the money with the others. Poor girl – you could tell how awful she was being made to feel. It made me cringe just watching it!
Davina – shame on you!!!!! Perhaps you are the one who should be sharing with the HM the money you have received for your mediocre presenting of the series? Or donating 10% of it to charity?
Is there any way to make an official complaint? Would others agree that Davina was bullying Rachel? I would like to see her making a formal apology (pie in the sky I know, but it really really annoyed me).

Rachel is a worthy winner of BB9. So she didn’t strip off, scream at every opportunity or bitch behind everyone’s back or try and manipulate everything to suit herself, she is sweet and funny and full of life and most of all she is kind and warm hearted. What she didn’t deserve was Davina’s treatment on BBBM. It was really horrible to watch when she was asked about sharing her money and also when Davina asked the other housemates if Rachel should have won. Who cares what they think, they made her life hell in there and it was unsurprising to see them all bitter and nasty – exactly why they got voted off BB.

Thank God Rex didn’t win (or come second) – what an obnoxious git he is, and what an obnoxious girlfriend he’s got. Still banging on about her being beautiful (she looks like a weasel).
Good luck to Rachel – don’t give it away, girl, you earned it, you spend it. Charity begins at home, so give your Mum, Dad and boyfriend a treat for their support and forget any promises extracted from you under pressure. Shame on Davina, I say!

I am so glad I am not the only one to think that Davina treated Rachel really badly on BBBM. Fancy asking the housemates if she should have won and then letting Dale and Luke run Rachel down. As for Dale and Stuart since when did they have a personality? How exactly were they entertaining? Take away their bodies and what have you got? Dale can hardly string two words together. Also does anyone know how to complain to Channel 4 about the way Davina tried to get Rachel to say she would share her money out? And why did she not once have a good word for Rachel?

On Friday good triumphed over evil. I’m so glad Rachel won. People say she was boring but were the others so interesting. I don’t think so. I don’t find bullying funny and as for the first ones out all they did was scream and shout at people. This is not entertainment BB.
As for Davina, she was disgraceful. To treat Rachel as she did was unforgivable.
By the way this is the first time I have ever done this but I really feel that things got out of hand this year with Rex and his bullying and arrogance and feel better that I’ve got it off my chest.

In time, BULLIES realise they are a minority and just how stupid others think they look and act.
Rex has probably just done his business more harm than good because of the way he has Bullied most everyone in the house.
Did anyone else notice that when LISA used MARIO as a threat against REX for bulling her, that REX looked really worried and squealed to big brother.
If we all had REX’s attitude in life, the world would be a bad place to live.
Thank god the REX’s in this world are very few and far between.

Surely its up to BB to supply the entertainment for the show!!! if I want to be entertained by bullies and loud monthed wonnabees then I can go and stand on many a High Street corner on a Saturday night.
I think some of you on this blog should really question your meaning of the word ‘entertaining’, because if watching someone humiliate and upset others you feel you are being ‘entertained’, then I would say to you that you also are a bully.
Of couse we don’t want all Rachels in next years show, no more than we want all Luke’s or all Rex’s. We need a good cross section of characters that are going to make us laugh and entertain us – but not at the expense of other peoples feelings.

I wish Endemol would replace Davina as presenter. Her silly grimaces and pulling of faces are annoying and she was an unfair interviewer who did no justice to the show or the HM’s. And she waddles on the stage!

…And so BB9 has finally ended. Although I wasn’t a Rachel fan, Good Luck to the girl.
I do hope that there will be a BB10 but methinks that with all this controversy that has surrounded BB9, it remains to be seen. So many have complained to Ofcom and BB, that I wouldn’t be surprised if they ‘pull the plug’. (Many thanks to those who complained…NOT!) So if next year comes around and there is no BB, remember what happened this year.
I still am of the mind that Rex wasn’t a bully but rather a wind up merchant. Whoever thought him so, have you easily forgotten what Alex was like to the HM’s? As for Mikey standing up to the ‘bullies’? Well, I seem to recall that this wasn’t evident until later in the show.
As I missed BBBM I had only what others had wrote to go by regarding Davina’s interview. I must admit that when I got the chance to see the programme for myself, I just couldn’t believe the outcry concerning it. I don’t think Davina did or said anything wrong. Unfortunately the Bandwagon is rather full as complaints have NOW been made to Ofcom and BB about her.
So, as I said at the beginning – DON’t be surprised if BB comes to an end. Only time will tell…..

Seams – Good for you for congratualting Rachl even though you were not a fan. Pity there were not more people like you on the blog. I liked Rachel because she remained true to herself in the house despite being attacked verbally by several housemates who many claim were ‘entertaining’. Agree with 57 this is playground entertainment – or I would go so far as to say about as entertaining as outside any main street public house on a Saturday night where boys try to act ‘big’ and girls strut about shedding their clothes – clever NOT. Davina was not clever on BBBM and did not give Rachel any credit for being the winner. I also feel that she was unfair to Sara. I wonder how different BB would have reacted if Sara or Rachel had been coloured – would REX and Darnell still have made the final, and would their behaviour been passed over as ‘lads having fun’ – I don’t think so. Good luck Rachel, enjoy it while you can. Best of luck to Mikey and Sara as well and I hope Mario and Lisa have a Great Wedding and a fantastic life together, as for the others I hope they disappear back to obscurity as soon as possible.

I totally agree with J.68 Davina,s behaviour to Rachel was disgraceful and should call for an a apology, by BB9 and Davina personally. It was very clear during the final week how much Davina,was showing preference for Rex and constantly refered to him on several occassions. a presenter should have an unbiased opinion. Rachel deserved to win, and not pressured at her interview, It again showed more bullying did it not. Good luck Rachel.

Well i’m glad Racheal won she deserved it, she is a generally a nice person, who could teach alot of people a few things, for one bullies and bitching gets you no where. Darnell has a great personality and once he truly accepts he is liked for what he is, his personality will shine through. So i wish Darnell and Racheal lots of luck. Sarah is a lovely, loud yes but generally nice, i hope her dreams come true. As for Rex and Nichole they suit one another, totally selfish, and arrogant, two not nice qualities in a person.
They really deserve each other. i hope seeing all the flashbacks they both learn from their experiance, money does not make you a nice person as we saw.
