New Zealand are expected to end that 20-year wait in France, but face stiff opposition from Australia, South Africa and of course, the hosts France. Sportsmanship
Sadly, the lasting memory I have of the English squad on the night was the way many of them showed great disrespect to the South African president, Thabo Mbeki, by ignoring him at the medal ceremony. Shame on them. The South African players in their turn all shook hands with Gordon Brown.
