LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Emily Blunt, who played a fashion magazine assistant in "The Devil Wears Prada," has been offered the role of a Lilliputian princess in the feature film "Gulliver's Travels."
Jason Segel, one of the stars of CBS' "How I Met Your Mother," is in negotiations to join the cast of the modern reimagining of Jonathan Swift's classic satire.
Jack Black stars in the film, which Rob Letterman is directing for 20th Century Fox. The story involves a free-spirited travel writer, Lemuel Gulliver (Black), who on an assignment to the Bermuda Triangle washes ashore on the hidden island of Lilliput, home to a population of industrious yet tiny people.
Blunt would play the island's princess and the love interest of Horatio, Segel's character, a Lilliputian who befriends Gulliver.

Nicholas Stoller, who directed Segel in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," wrote the screenplay with Joe Stillman.
Segel next appears on the big screen with Paul Rudd in John Hamburg's "I Love You Man."
Blunt is in talks to play the Black Widow in "Iron Man 2." Dates are being worked out, and she could end up doing both big-budget projects.
