LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - As the world awaits the November 17 debut of Daniel Craig as the latest Agent 007, the producers of "Casino Royale" are busy making plans for the next chapter in the James Bond franchise.
"Notting Hill" director Roger Michell is in negotiations to shoot the follow-up, which has a working title of "Bond 22."
Columbia Pictures, which is producing "Casino Royale" and "Bond 22" alongside MGM, declined comment. "Casino Royale" was filmed by "GoldenEye" director Martin Campbell.
While plot details for "Bond 22" remain sketchy, sources say the film is based on an original idea from Bond producer Michael Wilson. A writer has yet to be hired.

Michell and Craig teamed on the 2004 drama "Enduring Love." Michell also directed "Changing Lanes," starring Ben Affleck and Samuel L. Jackson. The Englishman would have directed Nicolas Cage in the box office bomb "Captain Corelli’s Mandolin," but was laid low by a heart attack.
