LONDON (Hollywood Reporter) - "Kinsey" director Bill Condon has won the Directors Guild of Great Britain’s award for outstanding director in the international film category.

But the judges couldn’t agree on a single winner in the British film category.

Shane Meadows ("Dead Man’s Shoes") and Pawel Pawlikowski ("My Summer of Love") shared the award for outstanding directorial achievement on a British film, presented during a ceremony at the Curzon Mayfair Cinema in London.

Condon beat out some top names in the international category: Martin Scorsese for "The Aviator", Clint Eastwood for "Million Dollar Baby" and Michel Gondry for "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind".

In the British category, Meadows and Pawlikowski were in competition with Mike Leigh ("Vera Drake") and Roger Michell ("Enduring Love").

Brazilian director Walter Salles secured the evening’s outstanding directorial achievement award in the foreign-language category for "The Motorcycle Diaries."

The DGGB also dished out awards for directing endeavours in television.

This year’s movie/miniseries category nod went to Leo Regan for "Comfortably Numb" ahead of Adrian Shergold for "Dirty Filthy Love" Pete Travis for "Omagh" and David Yates for "Sex Traffic".

In only its second year, the DGGB honoured Sam Mendes with a lifetime achievement award for his work in theatre and film, while Simon McBurney secured plaudits for outstanding directorial achievement in theatre.
