The Painted Veil is an epic and captivating love story set in the 1920s that tells the tale of a young English couple, Walter and Kitty, who marry for the wrong reasons. Soon after relocating to Shanghai, Kitty falls in love with another man and, in revenge for her infidelity, Walter forces her to accompany him to a remote village ravaged by an epidemic.
