It's just your everyday tale of a boy tracking down his long-lost childhood sweetheart and, still holding a torch despite many years of separation, harbouring hopelessly romantic dreams of a rose-tinted reunion. At least, it would be if this weren't a Farrelly brothers movie.
Bringing their anarchic, bad taste and thoroughly non-PC sensibilities to bear, the makers of Dumb & Dumber and Woody Harrelson bowling hilarity Kingpin twist the standard rom-com until it's painfully funny. Literally.
High-school nerd Ted (Ben Stiller)scuppers his dream night at the Senior Prom with babe Mary (Cameron Diaz) when a hasty zip fasten snags in a very tender area, and now - over a decade later - he still feels for her. So Ted hires lowlife private detective Pat (Matt Dillon) to locate her in sunny Miami, which he duly does.
But then Pat decides he wants her for himself. And this is only the beginning of a laugh riot serving up four or five absolutely unmissable scenes, packing in the most outrageous humour, and featuring quality support work from Lee Evans and Lin Shaye.
