Biography: All about Jim

One of the most amazing success stories of recent cinematic history, Jim Broadbent began as a comedy-inclined travelling player, slowly building a reputation on TV, most particularly as Del Boy Trotter's mortal enemy in Only Fools And Horses. But all the while he was building an arsenal of abilities that suddenly exploded in Iris, where he played the long-suffering husband of an Alzheimer's-ravaged Iris Murdoch, and in Moulin Rouge, as the all-singing, all-dancing leader of Nicole Kidman's glitzy review. For the former, he took an Oscar. An Oscar for Del Boy's old mucker - how did THAT happen?
