Eragon is the tale of a young man whose destiny is revealed when he learns he is one of an elite troop of Dragon Riders. Eragon is swept into an extraordinary world of magic and mystery, discovering that he, and his dragon, can save - or destroy - an Empire.
The stellar cast includes Jeremy Irons (Kingdom of Heaven, Reversal of Fortune), Robert Carlyle (The Full Monty ) John Malkovich (In The Line of Fire, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) Sienna Guillory (Love Actually and TV's Helen of Troy),and Djimon Hounsou (Gladiator, In America). There is strong support from British actress Tamsin Egerton (Keeping Mum, Driving Lessons) and singer Joss Stone (appearing in her first film).
Eragon is the directorial debut of Stefan Fangmeier (the visual effects genius behind such films as Saving Private Ryan, Twister, The Perfect Storm, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World). Fangmeier is a three-time BAFTA Award winner and has been nominated for four Oscars.
