Tiscali Forum Rules
Forums are Internet discussion groups in which you can discuss a wide range of subjects with other Internet users.
They work through people posting messages, which are organised into discussion topics - or 'threads'. A message can be a reply within an existing discussion, or the start of a new one. Topics are as diverse as music to lifestyle, and current affairs to science fiction.

Forum rules
FORUM RULESThis section is to highlight and explain the rules which Tiscali would like members to follow when posting to the Tiscali Forums.
Tiscali's BBS server is not a public one. This means that you need to be a Tiscali member to post to our forums and thus must abide by Tiscali's Terms & Conditions. Although a few forums are mostly frequented by adults and will thus sometimes stray into more adult themes and language, we would remind everyone that children are free to read all postings on this service and that this should be born in mind when posting.
Please be aware that these forums are not actively moderated by Tiscali staff. This means that no member of Tiscali staff either screens the material prior to it appearing on the service, nor reads all postings after they appear on the service. We therefore rely mainly on our moderators and membership to alert us of postings which they feel are inappropriate. Details on how to do this can be found at the bottom of this posting.
FORUM POSTING RULES
You may not post any material that: Is perceived by Tiscali and its moderators, or Tiscali members, to be an insult or attack on another forum poster. We encourage debate and the exchange of ideas; however disagreements must not turn into personal attacks on other members, including Tiscali staff and moderators.
In certain categories, you may encounter strong views and postings with which you do not agree with or may find objectionable. This is a private forum owned by Tiscali and although it is open to all, it must be stressed the content found within this forum does not reflect the view of Tiscali or their moderators, and although we wish to foster lively discussion without restricting users freedom to express their opinions, any posting deemed to be extreme may be removed without warning.
This includes:
Threats, harassment or name-calling.
Profanity, vulgarity, obscenity or anything that is deemed unsuitable for a family audience.
Disparages race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or nation.
Infringes on anyone's rights of privacy.
Please refrain from:
Making identical postings in more than two forums (multi-posting).
Using Tiscali's forums as a staging ground for creating general unrest about any aspect of the service.
Hijacking a thread by repeatedly adding postings designed to draw the readers' attention to a separate forum, thread, site or issue.
Being unsympathetic to the nature of the group you are posting to and keep off-topic material to a minimum.
Continuing a thread, which has previously been deleted by Tiscali Forum Moderators or Tiscali staff, unless it is with prior permission from the Community Team.
Creating links to URL's that are in direct competition with Tiscali's Community services or links that may be offensive or inappropriate. Links to URL's will be removed solely at our discretion, unless previously agreed with a Tiscali Community Representative.
Staff and Moderators will:
Remove or edit any material, at our sole discretion, with or without warning in an effort to maintain the atmosphere and integrity of Tiscali's forums.
Suspend the forum posting rights of persistent offenders and may ban them from using the service completely.
Take further action on an offender's account as detailed in Tiscali's Terms & Conditions.
Forum Moderating Procedures
Volunteer moderators keep an eye on Tiscali's forums and stimulate discussion in their chosen area. They are given the ability to delete, edit or move postings and will do so in line with the Forum Rules and Tiscali's Terms and Conditions. In addition, other appointed members of Tiscali staff may remove or edit material at any time, at their sole discretion, although they are not obligated to do so.
Members will not receive notification of any changes to the contents of their message, nor will they be notified about deletions of their messages.
The decision of authorised Tiscali staff and moderators is final and binding in all matters relating to the forums.
What should you do if you feel a post breaks the rules or is offensive?
You should click on the link below the offending posting, which says 'Report this post to a moderator' this will allow you to enter a reason why the posting should be removed. Please note that it is not normal practice to reply or advise what action, if any may have been taken following a Reported Post.
Tiscali will endeavour to investigate all complaints in a timely manner.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU HAVE BROKEN THE FORUM RULES
If we feel the incident is not serious and we have no record of any previous abuse of service, we will issue you a warning about the posting but no action will be taken against your account.
If you have registered a Tiscali account with details which we believe to be false, your account will be terminated without prior notice under Section 3.8 of our Terms and Conditions.
If the complaint is of serious abuse (eg 'spam' crossposted throughout multiple forums, continued and obvious abuse of other members etc), we may terminate your account without prior notice under Section 8 of our Terms & Conditions. If our records show a history of abuse from you, we may terminate your account without prior notice. If, after reading the Forum Posting Rules, you feel that your suspension or ban is unfair or unjust, contact the forum administrator. Email: forumcommunity@tiscali.co.uk
Any accounts, previously or newly created to access the forums, while the matter is being investigated, will be suspended until a decision on your appeal has been reached.
Should you feel, that after speaking to the forum administrator, the appeal is still unresolved to your satisfaction, it may be passed to a Tiscali representative who will contact you to discuss the matter further. The decision of this representative will be final.
