TODAY IS BORING is calling, marshaling and hosting a 'Zombie Walk': a flash mob convergence of hundreds of zombie-dressed participants trudging through the streets of London, ending up at the Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen for bad zombie movie backdrops and zombie themed DJ sets.
The participation of a film crew, various photographers and professional make-up artists promises to make this one walk of the damned no one will forget!
If you or someone you know would like to join the ranks of the army of the living dead, please send us an email. For more details on rest-stop times and locations (for late-comers) and other important details: today_is_boring@blueyonder.co.uk
THE PROPOSED ROUTE
We will meet on the front steps of St. Paul's Cathedral at 1pm, and depart at approximately 1.15pm, crossing the Thames on the Millenium Bridge to the Tate Modern. Upon touching down on the south bank, we will head down river along the Thames footpath, passing the Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, stopping for a 15-minute moaning and clawing session at a pub by the river called 'The Anchor' between approximately 2pm and 2.15pm, which should give any dead people who were late to join us at the Cathedral. Once satisfied we will shuffle on past the Clink, and the Cutty Sark, and up onto London Bridge, crossing back over to the north side of the river, and into the city. Our route will then take us up King Williams Street, left on Nicholas Lane, straight through up Birchin Lane, crossing Cornhill and cutting through the Royal Exchange Buildings and up Old Broad Street. After crossing straight through at the intersection of London Wall and Wormwood street, we will hang a left along the pedestrian-only New Broad Street, then turning left out onto Blomfield Street and up towards Liverpool Street Station, passing through the Octagon Arc into Broadgate Circle, exiting to the left into a square whose official name is unknown, but we will call it 'Disco Square' as it has a light-up dance floor. Here, if enough of us have practiced, we will play 'Thriller'. We hope this much needed rest-stop will happen between 3pm and 3.15pm. Once we have finished with this part of the world of living, we will exit to the north and then left on Finsbury Avenue, hanging right on Wilson Street and straight on up as it turns into Paul Street and then right onto Leonard Street. As Leonard Street ends at Great Eastern Street, we will cross on through and up Charlotte Road, as it decides to change its name to Rufus Street at the last minute, just before entering Hoxton Square. Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen is on the left, or south-west corner of the square, and we are principally occupying the back room, where zombie visuals and DJ sets will provide a backdrop to your new found peerage of animated cadavers.
