The Department of Health said an estimated 100,000 people in England sought help in the past week, up from 55,000 the previous week.
There are now 840 people in hospital with the virus, of which 63 are in intensive care.
Most people with the virus in hospital are aged 16 to 64, with 435 cases, followed by the under-fives, with 169 cases.
Is swine flu under control or out of control? Have you been affected by swine flu? What are your concerns? Are you worried about catching swine flu or is it all being blown out of proportion by the media?

I also think that many people were diagnosed over the telephone, who never really had it.
There were many virus's going around the schools the later half of July, and i think they were said to be swine flu.
The reason why there are less cases, is that the children have been off school this month. Lets see what happens when they return to school. Also I feel that people are taking time off work, by saying they are feeling unwell.
When they really could have been working.
Please stop and think before spouting on about more Swine Flu yet.
I have returned from holiday by many means of transport mixing with alot of poeple. I felt poorly on hols and since my return but I am blaming the air-conditioning which was everywhere I went!! I don't have a fever which is the biggest sign of most flu's but have double checked symptoms with the online service to make sure.
Flu can be draining in its self so fluid, paracetamol, small healthy snacks little and often and plenty of rest! good personal hygeine & that of the home seems like the best advice.
DON'T LIVE IN A STATE OF FEAR, JUST LIVE!
There was 4 cases of it at my childrens school the last of term.
One mum I know has 3 children, the last week of school, her eldest went down with swine flu and was perscribed tamiflu, yet she sent the other 2 children into school, saying she wanted out them of her hair and that it best the other kids catch the virus now while its summer! One of my children was in the same class as her youngest,I kept mine home!!!
Also another mum who works with disabled children, had her son go down it,yet she still went to work every day, even going away with the weekend with them, while her mum looked after her sick child.
I am doing my best to not go to crowded places and teaching my children strict hand washing...it's annoying when no one else seems to care!
