Under control or out of control?

the hype around swine flu is ridiculous it is no more serious than the annual flu problems. The set up to manage any outbreak is over the top, so many centres and points of pick up and yet we have not seen a real problem. We get told that it will happen in winter, well every winter we have flu bugs and problems, it is very unlikely to be worse than that, but just in case. the back up is in place already and the country is to be immunised...Am I worried, I don't have a care, it will be over before we know it was around us.

I am not worried about swine flu. I would not take tamiflu or have the jab if it was offered. I had real flu 15 years ago and was told nothing would help as it was a virus. How come now there are tablets for swine flu and a jab when we are always told there are no antibiotics that will help viruses. I am 66 years old. It took me six weeks to fully recover from flu I lost a stone in weight but I would still not take tamiflu or have the jab, they have been developed far too quickly and the side affects far outweight the disease itself.

It's just another flu. Thousands die every year from flu. Swine flu is no different. In the UK we have good diet, good health care. Think what this could do in Africa. Don't believe that it is as bad as the media would have us think.

I am too appalled by the lack of common sense of other people in regard to spreading it around.
There was 4 cases of it at my childrens school the last of term.
One mum I know has 3 children,the last week of school,her eldest went down with swine flu and was perscribed tamiflu,yet she sent the other 2 children into school,saying she wanted out them of her hair and that it best the other kids catch the virus now while its summer!One of my children was in the same class as her youngest,I kept mine home!!!
Also another mum who works with disabled children,had her son go down it,yet she still went to work every day,even going away with the weekend with them,while her mum looked after her sick child.
I am doing my best to not go to crowded places and teaching my children strict hand washing...it's annoying when no one else seems to care!

I agree with Miss Piggy the incompetent government should be sacked. It makes me laugh how they criticise the government of China on the issue of Human Rights. At least the Chinese Government know how to manage a pandemic virus spread, and neither did they spend £7 million on printing brocures explaining to people what was already common knowledge
